Well honey.. You and I are in different seasons, and yours sounds way more attractive than mine right now, and probably vice a versa. We had plus 8 this morning and now it has plummeted to minus 14. So the lake that WAS defrosting is now a sheet of thick ice again, and Dawg is unsure about going out for a pee. Like us he has only been out of the mild damp UK for 3 weeks for it is a whole new experience for him too. Take care and stay in touch eh? as they say in Canada. x

hi well i am the new kid on this. bloging thing and i no not wat i am doing as yet. reading some of your comments you all sound very cold indeed .i on the other hand r sitting here with 2 fan's going it is 8.30am i have just mowed the front lawn. got bitten by i don't know wat on my litter finger which smart's like hell. and now my little finger is the size of my big toe. not nice . and the temp here is 27 and on the rise. so thinking of snow sound's pretty good right now not to mention how good it would make my little finger feel . ps . nice to talk 2 u. my name is dallas. and that's been my morning 2 this point. so my big?? little finger will say t.t.f.n. dog's cat wanting food. bye.

Your son and I are on the same wavelengths in regards to wasps--if there's one around, it will sting me. When mum and I moved into my caravan home, we discovered a paper wasp nest in mum's closet...did it bother her as she put clothes away in the closet, lay in bed reading? No. Made a point of stinging me, though...in the living room while I was minding my own business watching tele, mo less.

I hate mosquitoes, living as we did, near a wet ditch in a humid valley...a right misery they were.

I'm happy you love your stright roads and automatic car--do they not have them in the UK, or did you just never buy one? They are common as dirt, over here. I didn't drive 3-speed until 1989, and no 5-speed until '91 or '92. I have to admit, driving in the mountains takes some getting used to--especially in late winter, with "frost heaves" on the road--heck, I've hit my head on the roof, driving over the multiple dips and bumps in the road, where the cold has lifted up or sunken the roadway, every few feet.

We will indeed honey. And guess what. Sometimes we bring logs in and the mosquitoes on them wake up and fly and buzz around us. Bleugggh. BUT as I found out when I worked in the South of France it is only the pregnant females that bite. And clearly it is too cold for all that nonsense right now. Thank goodness!! Just before we left the UK I brought a garden ornament in for No. 1 Son to sell on ebay and within five minutes a HUGE wasp woke up (clearly been hiding in there) and flew around the room. Son freaked (hates wasps) and Hubs opened the window and let it out! So we are coping with the wildlife and the cold. I am getting used to long long roads with no bends. Jeez I drove a stick shift for years on tiny winding lanes, and now? Long roads in an automatic? It feels like driving a go cart to me? I will acclamatize I am sure. Meanwhile keep in touch and take care x x x x

Well, at least you won't have to worry about running out of firewood for a while. 32 F, (0)? That does sound nice. We're about the same here--except for Monday, damn near froze my ears off waiting for a non-existant bus to come, Monday night---ah well. In about three or four more months, we'll both be whinging about the heat and humidity. :))
